Never Stop Training
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
II Timothy 2:15
To train is learning to do something, by practice, over a long period of time. Training has specific goals of improving one’s capability, performance, capacity and productivity. Training involves the combination of physical, mental, spiritual and emotional areas in order to experience God’s highest and best. It is a life of energy, initiative and motivation. Be a dream maker. Let training become a natural way of life!
Everything God promised in His Word has already been done. We only need to believe to receive it by faith and trust that God’s Word is true. The provisions of Jesus Christ accomplished through His death, shedding of His blood, the resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit to indwell believers is our potential. The provisions need to be recognized, affirmed and acted upon with boldness and confidence or they will remain unformed in the substance of God.
David said, “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11). Sin is doubt and uncertainty (Romans 14:23). It keeps us from receiving God’s highest and best. The provisions of God, found in His promises, are activated when the Word we hear and speak is mixed with faith (Hebrews 4:1-2). By understanding who we are in Jesus Christ and what He paid for, we receive His promise of provision for all things.
Grace is a gift from God. Lay aside the idea that you must be good to receive from God. Accept the idea that God owes you nothing, then He can give you everything. God’s promises must be taken for granted. They are never earned nor deserved. We are only to believe and receive the provision. It requires awareness, boldness and practice for this truth to take root in our belief system. Never stop training.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (I John 5:14). Connect the asking to God’s will. To ask according to God’s will is to ask in faith, nothing wavering (James 1:6). Doubt is called an evil heart of unbelief (Hebrews 3:12). It blocks and hinders the performance of God’s Word. Stop trying to figure out the ‘thing’. Is this God’s will or not? It only creates confusion. God’s will and design is for our hopes, dreams and desires to be fulfilled (III John 3:2).
Train Your Speaking
We have the power of life and death in our tongue (Proverbs 18:21). God designed us to speak His Word (Romans 10:8). He says our words are important, significant, a creative force, abundant life, the future; they vibrate with result producing power by the meaning behind them. God’s Word is the key to living consistently with power, purpose and plenty!
Train Your Physical
Work your heart and lungs vigorously twice a week. Keep your legs and back strong. The bodies we live in are designed to move and be in health. “What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own.” (I Corinthians 6:19).
Train Your Emotions
Satan uses emotions to deceive and lead astray. He works on our minds and emotions to try to discourage us from believing God’s Word. As believers in Christ, we should rejoice in knowing we can get out from under the burden of negative emotions by faith, prayer, a positive attitude and by obeying God’s Word. Decide not to be emotionally controlled, give it to God and live in His grace and peace. All things are possible (Matthew 19:16).
Train Your Mind
Be renewed in your mind (Ephesians 4:23). A renewed mind doesn’t fade unless our belief system remains in the world’s system. A renewed mind keeps hope alive and declares something good comes out of every circumstance. (Romans 8:28).
