“For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.”
What is meant by the favor of God? Favor is best described as ‘demonstrated delight’. It is receiving preferential treatment and special privileges from God through His loving kindness. He wants to surround us with His divine favor. God shows favor to the ones who delight in Him, seek Him and give Him honor (Isaiah 66:2, II Chronicles 16:9).
The loving kindness of God is woven throughout our past, present and future. God reveals His loving kindness, mercy, favor, grace, faithfulness and promises in His Word. The preciousness of God’s incredible love was demonstrated when He sent His Son, Jesus, to be the sacrifice for our sins (I John 4:10). God poured His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who is given to us (Romans 5:5).
The loving kindness of God is greater than human love. Only God can give enough love to reach the depth of our inner being and transform our life. God’s loving kindness is excellent, gracious, precious and everlasting. Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39, Isaiah 54:10).
God called us to know and understand Him and to be partakers of His divine nature (Jeremiah 9:24, II Peter 1:4). He desires to display His loving kindness and favor through a personal relationship with Him. The more understanding and knowledge we gain about God, the more of His loving kindness and favor we experience. God’s loving kindness is the source of life that satisfies the soul. The pursuit of God enables us to accomplish whatever He designed us to be and to do. It strengthens our faith and promotes confidence in Him.
God’s divine will is to bless us with deeds of goodness by the magnitude of His loving kindness (Isaiah 63:7). God’s desire is to lift us up to His highest glory, a life of blessings. The amazing results of understanding and receiving God’s loving kindness is the revelation and experience of two words, ALL THINGS! God freely gives us all things (II Peter 1:3). All things are for our sakes (II Corinthians 4:15). We have sufficiency in all things (II Corinthians 9:8). God has given us all things for life and godliness (II Peter 1:5-6). In everything we are enriched by God (II Corinthians 9:11). Whatever we can mentally and emotionally accept as truth will take root and produce that truth by the power of the Holy Spirit. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do His pleasure.” (Philippians 2:1).
Favor of God
Believe to receive God’s favor (James 4:6-7, II Peter 1:2-3). God’s favor is ours, but we must first receive it by faith then release it by faith. Believe, receive and expect favor upon your life.
God is the source of favor. Grow in the knowledge of the Lord. We increase in relationship with Him when we increase access to Him and all His blessings and favor (II Peter 3:18).
Declare God’s favor. We have what we say (Mark 11:23). Speak favor over your life and you will receive favor.
God’s favor is a life-time gift. We don’t deserve it, nor can we earn it (Psalm 30:5, Ephesians 2:8-9).
Favor is prosperous provision. The Egyptians gave gold, silver, clothing and jewels to the children of Israel (Exodus 3:21).
Favor produces supernatural results. The people discovered possession of the land by miraculous ways (Psalm 44:3).
Favor protects us. We are safe and protected from the effects of evil. The Lord gave Joseph favor in the sight of the prison’s keeper (Genesis 39:21).
Favor promotes us. Esther found exceptional favor with the King. He offered her half of his kingdom (Esther 5:2).
Favor causes victory over our enemies. Esther prevented a plan to kill the Jews of the Persian Empire (Esther 4-7).
God’s favor surrounds us (Psalm 5:12). I am the righteous of God and You surround me like a shield.
