ALL Things are Possible
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
In Mark 9:17-29, the Bible describes Jesus performing a miraculous deliverance for a boy who was possessed by an evil spirit. One day Jesus came upon a father and his son who suffered from seizures. The father told Jesus the disciples tried to cast out the demon but failed. He said, “But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” (Vs. 22) That is when Jesus made the life-giving, mind changing, motivational statement, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23). Jesus rebuked the demon, and it immediately departed out of the boy. Jesus taught the disciples about the power of faith, prayer and fasting when he successfully performed the exorcism himself (Vs. 29).
The prayer Jesus was referring to was the ability to speak words of faith based on God’s Word to any situation and expect amazing results. Jesus spoke to the devil of torment saying, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” (Vs. 25) And, the tormentor left! Fasting is a long standing, consistent practice of building our inner reservoir with faith-love. It is barring our mind from negative thoughts of fear, doubt, lack and self-pity. This is a challenging life-style to choose. Joshua said, “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.
Jesus Christ never put limits on humans. Jesus spoke opposite of what we call difficult by saying, “And we know that all things work together for good…” Romans 8:28.
Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). God is the God of the impossible. He makes a way when there is no way. God takes the initiative to act where there is no solution and makes all things possible according to how we believe. We are nothing without God. The challenge is to stop calling things hard, difficult or impossible. Stop thinking God is angry with us for something we did or did not do.
Jesus overcame the world (original sin nature). Any negative thing that comes up in our life is already defeated by Jesus Christ. God provided a solution to those impossible situations…Fear not, stand still, see the salvation of the Lord and move forward (Exodus 14:13, 15).
What we call it, it is. “I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean (wrong), to him it is unclean (wrong).” (Romans 14:14). When we call life a teacher, we will move forward. Remind yourself that because of Jesus Christ, all things are possible.
God is a God of increase. Why do you want to have better health, to have more money, to have greater opportunities or to see miracles? This is the way God designed us. It is His will for us to prosper and be in health (III John 1:2). Lighten up and allow increase. What looks opposite of increase, believe the delay is creating a bigger supply. For every NO there is a bigger YES. God will do far greater than we can ever think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Enlarge your thinking!
Faith is action. Now is a moment of power. The choices we make today will be our future. Now is the time to stop talking about forgiveness and actually forgive. Stop talking about trusting God and actually trust Him. Stop thinking we must learn some ‘new’ truth to be free. Declare freedom now! New truth follows when we do what we know to do now. Advance in the direction of your dream and the ‘how to’ appears.
Lord Jesus Christ, Jehovah-Jireh, Lord over all, Creator and provider, I believe all things are possible, every need is met and every desire is fulfilled. Thanks be to You whose mercy endures forever. Amen.
