2019... A Great Year of Increase!
“Moses, My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan…” Joshua 1:2 NKJV
As we enter the calendar year of 2019, it is understandable to wonder what this year will hold. 2019 is a season of peace, power, prosperity, purpose and increase. We have to prepare ourselves for such a year! God blesses His people with peace, power, prosperity, purpose and the ability for increase, to grow greater in all areas; to be ready for new opportunities for growth and abundance.
After Moses died, Joshua had an encounter with God who appointed him to lead His people into the Promised Land of increase. Joshua understood the necessity of preparation to receive miracles from God. His courage, wisdom, submissiveness and faithfulness to God made him a fit leader. With Joshua in authority came an increase of faith for the miraculous. He had to motivate the discouraged Israelites to revive their faith in God and believe the Word of the Lord.
We need faith for increase as well. With faith in God and in His Word, we will receive increase. Faith is the key to release His unlimited power into our lives. Increase creates new life in us to rule our world and receive all that God has for us.
‘Arise and go’ is a powerful, activation order from the Lord. Arise is a call to take a step of faith to activate the Holy Spirit to release the provision of God’s Word on our behalf. God is saying to believers in Christ, “Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here, but NOW, arise and take action. When God sad, “Moses is dead”, He was declaring to Joshua to leave the past behind, disconnect form past attachments and go to the new place of great victory and conquest. Arise is an essential part of letting go of past attachments. Arise and go is to stop over thinking, questioning and discussing past hurts, disappointments, illnesses or unfulfilled dreams. Arise and go causes the ‘how to’ and the provision to appear.
God is always the God of new beginnings. The Bible continually refers to the fact that it is never too late for a new beginning (Isaiah 43:19, Ezekiel 11:19, Hebrews 10:20, Revelations 21:5). God says for new things to begin, we are to live in the present, face the future and leave the past behind. Dwelling on past sin inhibits God’s power, freedom and peace. The nature of life is determined by inner attitudes. When we change our thinking, speaking and behavior based on God’s Word, our circumstances change for the better. It is the beginning of wisdom and harmonious, purposeful living. We don’t know what the future holds, but we know God will see us through.
Now is the time to experience the unlimited connection to Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit and see amazing results! We have experienced many challenges throughout our lives and this past year. Sometimes we might allow them to enslave us to a point that we do not enjoy the full Christian life God has given us. It is a tradition in our society to make resolutions at the beginning of the year. God’s Word doesn’t mention making resolutions, but it does urge us to examine our lives regularly and seek God’s guidance.
I declare a blessed life of peace, power, prosperity, purpose and increase for everyone in 2019 (Psalm 115:14). My prayer of faith declarations is for everyone to take the opportunity to say how your life will go during 2019. Remind yourself that you are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Resolve to become more of His likeness and image. With the help of the Holy Spirit, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness (I Timothy 6:11). This is the year to challenge your thinking to believe the impossible is possible. The Holy Spirit, dwelling within each of us, is our supernatural faith to believe and receive all things are possible. As we plant, by affirming God’s Word into our belief system, we will see the glory (results) of God (John 11:40).
