Be Renewed in the Spirit of Your Mind
"That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind." Ephesians 4:22-23
When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, our sins are forgiven, our names are written in heaven and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to begin a new spiritual life (Romans 10:9). Living in the Spirit gives us a new belief system, assuring us that Jesus Christ is our Savior, when we die we will join Him in heaven and we are translated into His Spirit family. The Holy Spirit awakens in our life; He quickens our mortal body, causes us to be aware of Him living in us and enables us to believe in the supernatural (Romans 8:11).
The revelation that we are risen in Christ gives us access into an uplifted faith that works by love (Colossians 3:1). When Jesus died on the cross, the old sinful nature in us died (Romans 6:6). When Jesus rose from the grave, we were in Him, giving us a new life (Romans 6:4). Jesus paid the price for Adam’s original sin by taking it to the cross; He freed us from destructive ideas. We are the eternal purpose in Jesus Christ, to live by faith and to discover what we think and believe. How we think and speak is our prayer power. When we get our thinking straight, we get our lives straight.
After receiving our new life in Christ Jesus, God’s Word tells us we must ‘put off’ whatever belongs to our earthly nature; old sinful attitudes, fears, jealousy, blame, pride passions, behaviors, negative thoughts and feelings. The secret to living in victory is to learn to say NO to them and YES to what God says. We are to be renewed in our mind and put on the new man (Ephesians 4:22). Allow the Holy Spirit to do a thorough work in you so you can leave the old life behind and say YES to the ways of God. Become aware of and be thankful for the fact that the Holy Spirit is your ability to practice YES and NO at the same time.
We are responsible for our choices, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, convictions, words and what we focus on. To change our circumstances, attracting what we choose, we must train our thinking to focus on God’s Word. It is of little use to entertain faith thoughts if we continue to focus on non-faith thoughts. If we want to change our situations or circumstances, we must be willing to change ourselves. Life is transformed in miraculous ways when we know, internalize and apply the truth to God’s Word.
We are challenged to choose to have creative faith action or we will continue with destructive, self-protection methods. We must learn to change our thinking to change our circumstances and attract to ourselves what we desire. Release the Holy Spirit to be the renewing of your mind and to change your belief system. The world’s system is created out of the original sin. It is the demonic whereby comes all human suffering.
The world’s system says to believe as everybody else believes, be the same, stay the same and never change. Living by the power of God is described in the Bible as a new and living way that produces peace, joy and success (Hebrews 10:20). For a believer in Jesus Christ, this is a lifelong career and in that path, there is a sense of freedom and fulfillment. Living outside the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and having no knowledge of His Word will slowly destroy. Eventually, what we have will be taken from us. It is the law of life.
Success is released into our personal life through positive faith-love attitudes and emotional responses toward life. Think faith-love and life becomes more and more prosperous. The gift of the Holy Spirit is given to us by believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior. He is our power and ability to choose thinking and speaking faith-love. Faith and love work together (Galatians 5:6).
Because of Jesus and practicing of His sayings, we take inventory of old belief systems and be willing to change thinking from limitation to all things are possible (Mark 9:23). Believing in God’s love and favor toward us moves us into a position to receive from Him. It is possible to live a power over fear, no offense, no regret, peaceful and joyful life by understanding our position in the Holy Spirit and His position in us. The Holy Spirit is the treasure in us and the excellency of life (II Corinthians 4:7).
Be Transformed by the Renewing of your Mind (Romans 12:2)
1. “Let them shout for joy and be glad…" (Psalm 35:27). Practice being joyful and glad no matter how you feel or what the circumstance. Shout for joy means a bold confidence in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Our first priority belief practice, “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” (Romans 10:20).
2. “Who favor My righteous cause...” The Lord’s righteous cause is the revelation that He took away our sin and became our righteousness.
3. “Let the Lord be magnified…” Yielding to God is a choice. The more we yield to Him the more He becomes real to us.
4. “Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant…” Prosperity is peace, power, plenty and purpose.
I shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness (best of the best) of Your house, and You Lord cause me to drink of the river of Your pleasure. Amen (Psalm 36:8).
