What do You Believe?
“Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.”
The main responsibility for Christians is to believe in Jesus and to trust His presence in our lives. God’s Word tells us that if we would believe in our hearts and say it in a personal, present-tense way (by faith), it will be done unto us (Mark 11:23-24). Jesus gave the truth about life… BELIEVE! The first step of anything and everything is to believe. It is not that we, as Christians, don’t have enough faith or belief in God. But we need to have the right faith response in order to produce amazing results.
All believers in Jesus Christ have access to His faith, but it requires revelation to activate it and see it at work. When we mix faith with belief, the Holy Spirit is activated to bring forth what we hoped for into the natural realm. Believe all things are possible (Mark 9:23); believe you will have what you say (Mark 11:23); believe whatsoever things you desire, you will receive (Mark 11:24). It’s not the ‘thing’ that hinders us, annoys us or causes us emotional suffering; it’s what we believe about it. Jesus gave an example of what we can be like and what we can do by trusting God. Everything Jesus did on earth is our potential, if we believe. Believe, receive and see the glory of God.
‘It is done to you’ is the idea that something or someone is doing it to you. We sow seeds out of our beliefs. Sowing seeds by our attitudes, our motives, the words we speak and by our judgments create our future. What we are experiencing in life today is a result of the seeds we have sown in the past, good or bad. Everyone is subject to the law of sowing and reaping. It has been around since the beginning of time; no one can claim they are free from its control. Sowing seeds for the future is what we do, the results belong to the Holy Spirit who performs the faith attitudes we think and speak.
Anyone who is not awakened to Christ as Savior sows in the flesh and to the flesh. ‘Flesh’ is the demonic nature released by Adam when he ate the forbidden fruit presented by Eve; it is the result of all human suffering (Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 5:17). When Adam ate the forbidden fruit, their eyes were opened to evil; a change happened in their beliefs. Fear took over and the need to blame someone became a way of life.
The devil works with our lack of revealed knowledge. Every person has certain beliefs. Many are not aware that what they believe becomes reality. If you believe in lack, limitation, disease or failure, they will manifest by your belief convictions. It is easier to attach to old patterns, use excuses, blame or self-pity than to train your belief system by God’s Word. We have been given power and authority over the works of the devil; he is defeated by Jesus Christ.
Some believers think it is natural to yield to thoughts of doubt or fear when life gets difficult. A natural human response to self, others and life make us a prey to judgments, doubt, fear and anger. The result is complaining. Believing in lack or injustice, dwelling on thoughts of fear create more of the same. Responding to difficulties in a human way darkens our perception and calls up a need for self-pity.
A 65 year old person once said to me with conviction, “Everyone over 60 has arthritis.” The idea of illness and the fear of losing health motives humans to search for better health. No matter what we do, sowing out of fear slowly takes away what we are trying to have. A life that is never examined will become more frustrated as time goes by. Become a motive inspector of yourself and remove all seeds of motivational fears. This is a process. We can never discover every seed of seed motivation at one glance.
Change Your Beliefs to God’s Word. Go get started!
- No longer believe it is legal or normal to be sick. Believe in receiving your gift of health provision from Jesus Christ’s stripes.
- Believe in giving without a thought of return (Luke 6:38). Give respect and you will be respected. Give unconditional love without control, judgment or fixing and you will be loved. Give money and money will come to you. Give understanding and you will be understood.
- Choose a peace-love-joy-attitude every day. It is sowing seeds of greatness for your tomorrow.
- Practice tithing. This faith principle has supernatural, unexplainable results! Tithing to your church is the law that cannot fail; it creates a vacuum which is refilled with increase!
