Live by God's Word
"...know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord." Deuteronomy 8:3
"it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4
A portal is an open doorway that allows provision both ways. The portal of heaven is our mouth and the words we speak (Romans 10:8). God designed us to speak His Word. He says our words are important, powerful and significant. They are like gold, valuable, attractive, edifying and uplifting in a way that is perfectly fitted to the circumstance (Proverbs 25:11). By speaking God’s word in a personal, present-tense way, we move His divine substance into a life of unlimited riches (Mark 11:23).
Jesus tells us that we are justified to have the things we desire and to produce amazing results by speaking the Word (Matthew 12:37). We can have God’s good by speaking faith statements based on His Word. We are not to let any corrupt communication come out of our mouth, but only think and speak words that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy (Ephesians 4:29, Philippians 4:8). When we train our mind to think upon God’s Word and practice faith sayings, our belief system increases, our level of trust in the Lord heightens and His Word becomes a life-style of confidence and power.
Scriptural, creative faith words are: ‘I am’, we already have what we say before we have it. ‘I can’ are strength words, supernatural energy activated in us by saying so and trusting the Lord Jesus Christ. ‘I will” are words of sincere, direct intentions that cause us to be able to move ahead by releasing the power and ability of the Holy Spirit. ‘I have’ are words of confidence. The knowledge of Christ is the revelation that He lives in us (we are one with God). ‘Do it now’ are power-action words, the way of making changes in our lives.
Human emotions can attempt to shut down our faith-attitude and speaking. Accepting Jesus Christ as Savior is our doorway to eternity with Him, but it will not give us victory on earth. Victory on earth is hearing, speaking and obeying His sayings (Hebrews 4:2). When our foundation is based on God’s Word, the devil cannot deceive us nor take from us what Jesus has provided through the power of the cross.
In Deuteronomy 8:3, the Israelites understood the importance of words while they were in the wilderness. For forty years, their clothes did not wear out, they did not have problems with their feet and they lacked nothing (vs. 4, 9). In Matthew 4:4, it is the same for us today. Proper understanding of mixing God’s Word with faith raises us to a higher level of total provision and continuous supply. My inner rule for life: Everything about me, around me and in me feeds upon and lives by God’s Word spoken out of my mouth in faith.
1. Lord Jesus Christ, I receive my perfect health provision by the stripes of Jesus Christ. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (II Corinthians 3:17). Because the Holy Spirit lives in my body, I live in complete liberty. Every muscle, every ligament, every tendon and every cell in my body contains the Holy Spirit. Therefore, my body is free from all lack, pain, disease and torment. I have perfect health and increased strength. I receive supernatural peace from You, Holy Spirit. I receive my sufficiency for all things out of God’s grace (II Corinthians 9:8).
2. I feed on God’s Word. Every day I speak fitly spoken words into my life, health, strength and circumstances. My outer world changes into the image created by God’s Word that I speak. I build a life of faith that works by love on scriptural facts, not how I feel. I choose to meditate, study God’s Word and speak God’s Word every day.
3. Because of Jesus Christ, I have within a power greater than myself. He is the excellency of my power (II Corinthians 4:12).
4. The choice of my focus is the channel into my life. I choose to focus on God’s Word, mixing it with faith, and I receive more of Him in increased form.
