Our Path of Life is Already Set Up!
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
The Bible talks about divine direction. God has a plan for each of us. He has ordered our step and He delights in our way (Psalm 37:23). We do not have to ask Him to put a new plan in effect for our life. The key to unlocking God’s direction is to trust Him, lean not on our own understanding, acknowledge Him in all our ways and cast our cares upon Him (Proverbs 3:5, Matthew 6:33, I Peter 5:7). When we are in God’s direction, we are heading toward abundance and victory!
The presence of God is available to every person on earth at anytime, at any place. His presence is our potential which has its starting point by calling on the name of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:13). This is a necessary step because the only way to connect with our Creator-Redeemer is to say His name, “Jesus Christ.” (John 14:6).
The name of Jesus is the greatest, most powerful name in existence (Philippians 2:9). The authority given by Jesus permits us to take action on His behalf (Matthew 28:18-20). It is by faith in Jesus Christ’s name that we are saved, given the gift of the Holy Spirit, set free from the bondage of sin, given total provision and continuous supply for all things, healed and made whole.
When God prepared paths for our lives, He set up everything we would need to fulfill our destiny. We are at the right place, doing the right thing, meeting the right people, in the right circumstance, on the right schedule. God has already released supernatural favor into our future for everything we need. Nothing can stop what God has ordained!
The path of life includes the revelation to maintain an uplifted attitude and develop a supernatural response to yourself, others, life and life’s events. Natural, human responses can lead to unnecessary, time consuming speculation, judgment and the wrong use of words. When we see something and call it difficult, most likely what follows is complaining. In the natural, there is an unconscious need for self-pity that wants others to know how hard life is. A wrong response creates more of what we don’t want. “…as we believe, it is done unto us.” Matthew 8:13.
The Foundation to the Path of Life (Acts 2:25-28)
“…I foresaw the Lord always before my face…” (Vs. 25). David understood the power of focus. He focused on the Lord and remembered His victories. God instructs us to focus on Jesus Christ to release the provision of His Word so we can prosper in all we do.
“…at my right hand…” (Vs. 26). Jesus’ right hand represents length of days. Our right hand is His right hand. Length of days is perfect health, energy, motivation and great follow-through.
“Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh also will rest in hope…” (Vs. 26). The Holy Spirit is our ability to rejoice and be thankful in all things. A thankful attitude and our spoken word of faith activate the Holy Spirit for the provision of God’s promises. To ‘rest in God’ doesn’t mean inactivity, it is experiencing His peace and power in the middle of anything. The ‘rest of God’ is a confident trust in the Lord with an active, alive faith and a can-do attitude. Hope is a gift from God to be experienced. It is a confident expectation of what we know is sure to come to pass, based on His finished works.
“For You will not leave my soul in Hades…” (Vs. 27). Hell is another word for guilt. Guilt is worry that is rooted in fear. It has everything to do with the past and has the power to ruin our future. If God says we are forgiven and pronounced us not guilty, then we should believe His Word above how we feel. We are designed to live a guilt-free life. Without Jesus’ shed blood, there is no escape from guilt. The only way to escape the consequences of past wrong choices is by applying Jesus’ blood for cleansing and filling our mind with God’s Word to make new faith choices.
“You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.” (Vs. 28). There is only one way to heaven, only one way to walk in victory, only one theory that works… let it go to God!
