I Say So!
"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." Psalm 107:2
Redeemed is the person who has discovered Jesus Christ is alive and well. The Lord Jesus shed His sinless blood to cover the sin of Adam, to give us forgiveness for every sin committed and to give us the gift of righteousness. Adam's disobedience allowed sin (death) to take over people; it is the source of all human suffering (Romans 5:17, II Corinthians 5:21). We walk through the valley of the shadow of death which is life on earth (Psalm 23:4). Death is the anti-faith feelings, thoughts, words and actions that rob us of life, health and peace. The shadow implies that death is real and it will gradually shut us down.
God came to earth and called Himself Jesus; He is our gift of life. Jesus became flesh to experience death, destroying the devil who had the power over death (Hebrews 2:14, I John 3:8). Because of Jesus' obedience to God's divine plan to defeat death, we have abundance in all things. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we discover His unlimited provision and continuous supply.
The devil attempts to stay alive by the energy of wrong thoughts, wrong attitudes and wrong behaviors. God designed us to speak His Word. It is the way to change our lives because it is powerful, effective, life-giving and satisfying. If we do not speak God's Word to prophesy our future, then our past experiences will be repeated (Psalm 39:2). It is a lifetime career in faith to remind ourselves to affirm God's Word, keeping every imagination and thought captive through the obedience to Christ (II Corinthians 10:5). Thoughts will exalt themselves against the knowledge of God unless there is faith. Speaking God's Word in a personal, present-tense way is the key to living an abundant life of peace, power, plenty and purpose.
The provisions of Jesus Christ were spoken by Isaiah many years before Jesus came to earth. Jesus removed the fever from Peter's mother-in-law when He touched her hand, cast out devils with His word and healed all that were sick. "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." Matthew 8:17. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5. Isaiah's prophecy is for us today as it was for people of all times because it points to our true light, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
After the resurrection, Jesus said to His disciples, "Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost." John 20:21-22. The disciples had no idea what Jesus was saying and didn't know until the Holy Spirit came upon them; it came out of Jesus' mouth before it happened. When it comes to our turn to live by the Spirit, we will begin to hear what God has said in His Word. The Bible begins to speak to us. When we hear what God has said, how will we respond?
1. "I will stand upon my watch (life), and set me upon the tower (a high level of awareness)..." This is a position of rising above circumstances and not reacting to things negatively, but thinking the thoughts of God. Reacting negatively is a waste of time and keeps creating more of the same. Habakkuk was focused on God's voice and word. "...and will watch (be aware in my life) to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved (instructed)." Habbakuk 2:1. The example of the prophet, Habbakuk, encourages believers to wait on the Lord, expecting that He will work out all things for our good (Romans 8:28).
2. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9. Call on the Lord: I call upon Jesus Christ's name for every occasion for supernatural provision. And now I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is supernatural from God to us.
3. "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:11. Say to the Lord: Thank You Lord Jesus Christ that I live in a quickened, alive and healthy body.
4. Say this to be so! Because of Jesus Christ, You, Holy Spirit are in me as a scriptural fact. You are my treasure and excellency of my life, health and peace. My thinking and speaking proceed out of God's Word. I no longer react humanly to life and its events. I think and speak originally and boldly from God's Word. I am not a victim of anything, only to the law of life in Jesus Christ. Amen.
