The Blessing of Abraham
"That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14
Abraham is one of the outstanding individuals of the Old Testament; God spoke to him personally, visited him in his home and considered him a friend. Abraham was a man of unshakable faith in God and he had an unquestionable obedience to God. When God called Abraham, he went without knowing where he was going. Abraham had no reason to hope, but he hoped in faith that God’s promise would be fulfilled. Abraham continued to be steadfast; he kept praising and giving glory to God. As he did so, he grew strong in faith; he felt confident that God would keep His word. Because Abraham had faith in God and was obedient to God, his faith was counted as righteousness (Romans 4:22).
The Bible outlines an abundance of privileges given to us as believers; they were paid for by Jesus. When we spend time in God’s Word and discover the privileges we have, righteousness becomes an active, powerful force in our life. When we acknowledge we are in Christ Jesus, we have received an inheritance, we have the right to walk in all the blessings and promises of God’s Word through our thoughts, emotions, actions and words. We will see them become a part of our life in every area.
God promises that the nations of earth shall be blessed in the seed of Abraham, Jesus Christ, in the covenant that God made unto Abraham. Jesus was crucified to redeem us from the curse of sin and death. He removed the curse of the law so the blessings given to Abraham would be available to us. When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we receive the promise of the Holy Spirit, we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ; we are translated into the Spirit family of God. We may not know it at the time, but God is faithful to work out all things for good and will direct our path, making the path straight and prosperous (Romans 8:28, Proverbs 3:6, Jeremiah 31:9. III John 1:2). As a seed of Abraham, all the blessings God promised him automatically passes on to us (Genesis 24:1). The negative effects of generational traits are now replaced with blessings. By faith, we say no to destructive traits and affirm our new position with God as descendants of Abraham.
All the blessings of Abraham are in the Holy Spirit living in us as a scriptural fact; He is neither a feeling nor is He our emotions. The Holy Spirit is real; He is our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby. He leads us to all truth and abides with us forever (John 14:16, 17-18, John 16:13, Hebrews 13:6). His power is available to us every moment of the day and for every occasion.
The Holy Spirit pulls out the iniquities, patterns, mind sets and limitation from our generational families and plants new roots into who we really are, a blessed seed of Abraham. The Holy Spirit is our connection to blessing, increase, enrichment, health and long life. Accept and receive the Holy Spirit who contains all the provisions of every promise of God. Activate your gifted position by saying so! There is no limit to what the BLESSING of God can be and do for those who dare to believe; it makes the impossible possible!
