"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe his name." John 1:12
Receive means to take into one's possession; to be given or presented with. In order to receive God's gifts, we must see ourselves as receivers. When we know we are receivers, we are ready to receive His flow of abundance. Knowing that God is the Giver, we receive what He generously gives us.
When we speak the word 'receive', it becomes a portal for the total provision and continuous supply that belongs to us because of Jesus Christ. A portal is an open doorway that allows provision both ways. The portal of heaven is our mouth and the words we speak (Romans 10:8, Hebrews 1:3). Using the word receive properly makes open door contact with invisible substance.
Everything changes for the better when you say, "I receive with thanksgiving and praise." The Holy Spirit is our ability to receive all things and to be thankful in all things. A thankful attitude and our spoken words of faith activate the Holy Spirit to activate the provision of God's promises.
Whatever is received with thanksgiving and praise is sanctified by the Word of God. Sanctified means by the work of the Holy Spirit, released by our words of thanksgiving and by our grateful attitude, everything does what it is supposed to do. The thing spoken works in an appropriate way, so we experience total provision and continuous supply.
The Word of God and prayer is the working of the Holy Spirit to perform the word we speak by faith (I Timothy 4:4-5). Abraham is our father of faith. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, giving glory to God; he was fully pursuaded that what God promised, He would perform (Romans 4:20-21). Activate and receive your gifted position by saying so! There is no limit to what God can do for those who dare to believe; it makes the impossible possible!
How to Use 'Receive' as a Portal for Total Provision and Continuous Supply
1. BELIEVE. "And in all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:22. What does asking in prayer mean? Prayer is talking with God, listening to God and enjoying His presence. We pray and ask God for something yet, sometimes we keep asking for the same thing over and over, creating a mental block to receiving. Believe it is our privilege to be provided for by our Creator. The fear of telling God what to do is a religious idea; it is the opposite of receiving what He has already done and what He freely gives (Romans 8:32). Because of God's gift of grace, we take His promises by faith in order to receive His provision. God owes us nothing, we deserve nothing. but He gives us everything. Grace can be a challenging concept if we have been taught we must perform to be rewarded. We are to believe and receive with thanksgiving.
2. SALVATION. Salvation is the assurance of eternal life with Jesus Christ; never earned nor deserved. I remember the day I knew I was going to heaven because Jesus revealed Himself to me over 50 years ago. The knowledge of salvation has never left. What a joy to realize a relationship with Jesus is not based on my behavior, it is because of Him. We no longer need to waste time trying to 'feel' close to God nor do we need to 'recommit' ourselves to Jesus because now we live from His commitment to us. Everything we say or do becomes worship to the living God. We walk in the Spirit and in Truth as worshippers!
3. HEALTH. In order to walk in God's health provision, we must come to a place where we stop asking to be healed and receive the healing provided by His stripes (Isaiah 53:5). Without revelation, we may panic and become fearful when something unexpected happens. We turn to 'emergency' prayer rather than casting the care upon the Lord, receiving His provision and waiting to see the good (I Peter 5:7, Romans 8:28). Can you believe it is possible to have a perfect health, pain-free, disease-free body? When we change our thinking, everything changes! Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me when I continuously ask You to do what has already been provided. Lord, I receive my perfect health provision from Jesus' stripes with thanksgiving and praise. Thank you that I have perfect health and increased strength NOW! Amen. If something 'illegal' appears on or in your body, immediately put faith-filled words on it. When a malfunction of my liver was discovered from a blood test, the first thing I did was to lay hands on my midsection and pray. "Lord, right now I take authority over this mafunctioning liver that causes my fatigue. I am calling on the name of Jesus Christ to cleanse me from this illegal thing. I release You, Holy Spirit, to move through me with the provision of Jesus' stripes. I declare my liver is healed, restored and renewed!" Now that I began the health journey on the right road, I was directed by a doctor to take certain liver-cleansing supplements. During the time I was taking the supplemements, I continued to declare my healing. I thank God for having access to His provision through supplements. What a great time to be on earth in America!
Lord Jesus Christ, I receive my health provision. I receive my financial provision. I receive my peace provision. I receive my sufficiency for all things with thanksgiving and praise. I say this to be so! Amen.
