Outbreak of Increase
"The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children." Psalm 115:14
What do you think of when you hear the phrase, "God is a God of increase?" Do you think of Him simply helping you 'have' more or do you see Him as your true source for all things in life? Sometimes we think that the increase (or success) which we enjoy is the result of our own efforts, but the truth is that God is the one behind our increase and He delights in blessing us because He loves us!
God is a God of increase; His natural way is to bless and increase. Increase is becoming greater in size, amount, number, etc. It is expansion, addition, multiplication, growing and flourishing. Increase is experiencing God's supernatural; calling forth and causing increase as we release faith. We are to receive our good for all things as a gift from God, thank Him and be a good steward by practicing obedience to His Word. As we affirm the Word of the Lord, we release the Holy Spirit for increase, causing us to abound and experience His blessings. Increase is blessing and blessing is increase.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, recognize, affirm and release the Holy Spirit in us, the urge to increase must be followed and expressed; it is God in us and His will for us. If we remain unenlightened and follow the beliefs of society that are blessed on the original sin, we soon will believe in decrease. The key to a blessed life is how we believe, what we say and our trust in the Lord (Matthew 8:23, Proverbs 3:5).
Trusting the Lord is the obedience road that releases increase to operate in our lives. David repeats three times in Psalm 115:9-11 saying, "...trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield." This is the time to believe we are not alone in life. This thought and action dissolves fear and fear is the idea we do not have any help. It is a glorious day when we finally say, "Lord, I let go of this fretting and I can't wait to see the good that is coming to me through this!"
It is important to practice casting our cares and concerns on Him (I Peter 5:7). When we do this, He will perfect our concerns (Psalm 138:8). It takes time, awareness, and practice to operate in the law of casting. Put in your mind these simple words when an emotional 'thing' comes up... let go and let God! These simple, but profound words are peace releasers.
Every person can be a patience builder. There are times when something we pray for, believe for and expect results for, but things don't change. As time goes by, this challenges our faith. Instead of allowing disappointment and bitterness, write a faith statement and speak it every day. This is the obedience road that releases increase into our lives.
The practice of faith is recognizing, affirming and acting upon. Faith releases God's call to experience increase in every area of our lives. We seek an increase of good in everything because it is a divine desire from God. God's Word promises that He always provides and His increase continuously presses into our lives. Faith gives God access into our lives to receive His favor and blessings. Living by faith embraces the idea that all things are possible and all things work for good (Mark 9:23, Romans 8:28).
The Word must become our thinking, speaking, emotions and behavior for blessing and increased good in our life. When we allow ourselves to live in a comfortable state, we miss God's design for increase. We must choose to practice faith or we become stagnant. Practice releasing the Holy Spirit to be your helper in choosing the way of the Lord.
In Psalm 115:12, David changes from telling "trust in the Lord" to telling what the Lord has been doing. "The Lord hath been mindful of us: He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel: He will bless the house of Aaron." The Lord thinks about us and He has blessed us. In the Old Testament, David said, "God will bless us", but after the cross of Jesus, we say, "Thank you Lord, You have blessed us." Being blessed and living blessed is our privilege in the New Covenant with Jesus. It takes time and repitition to sink into the idea into our belief system that God is our personal helper, our shield of protection just by his GREAT unconditional love for us.
Lord Jesus Christ, You are rich over me when I call upon Your name. I know I am empowered and enriched by Your Spirit. This is because of Your provision that I accept, not based on my behavior, but my faith to accept and receive what You did. I am guided by the Spirit of God to my true place, people and prosperity. Thank you. I say this to be so. Amen.
When we are established in trusting the Lord (let go and let God), the law of increase will begin to reveal itself to us (the Lord increases more and more). The revelation of being blessed and living in blessings will cause the next thing. "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men." Psalm 115:16. Rise and begin to practice your gifted authority over all things. Lord Jesus Christ, You have given me power over all the works of the devil which includes anything that attempts to rob, destroy or kill (John 10:10, Luke 10:19). Remember this affirmation for answered prayer and faith.
Do not turn outward to get the attention of God, rather turn inward to where He dwells within us. "... according to the power that worketh in us." Ephesians 3:20. There is no strain, struggle or frustration with prayer when we go within and make connection with Him and His unlimited provision He freely gives. Work by faith on your ability to receive with thanksgiving and praise. By His Spirit, I can overcome limitations! Amen.
