The Power of Your Thoughts
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." Proverbs 23:7
Everything we perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of our thoughts and beliefs. Our thoughts, the images in our mind, feelings connected to our thoughts and what we say create our reality. As we give attention to a particular subject, the awareness and knowledge related to that subject increases, grows and expands.
God is all powerful, all knowing, all creative and He is omnipresent. The power of our thoughts is limitless because we are created in His image (Genesis 1:27). God is our link to His rich supply and substance through our thoughts.
Our spiritual life is dependent on our faith and trust in God. Faith and trust must develop and grow as we trust God to fulfill His promises. Combining faith and trust embraces the idea that all things are possible and all things work for good (Mark 9:23, Romans 8:28). Practicing faith and trust is putting our focus and thoughts on God's Word and speaking His Word in a personal, present-tense way. If we want to experience God's best, we must be careful about what we allow to take residence in our hearts. Our spiritual heart sends the life of God to every area that concerns us.
God has given us the power of choice. The choices we make determine what we receive in life. The motives in our heart will eventually give birth to the things that are in our hearts. When we choose to use the power God gives us, we can expect to see a difference in our motives and our actions. The power to change is within us, the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God concerning our lives. The Holy Spirit reveals God's perfect plan for us and leads us into a life of fullness.
Our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and convictions are our responsibility. To change our circumstances to attract that which we choose, we must train our thinking to focus on God's Word. We are not to conform to the ways of this world, but we are to renew our minds and attitudes (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23). It is of little use to entertain faith thoughts if we proceed to focus on non-faith thoughts. We must cast down wrong thinking and replace our thoughts based on God's Word. Nothing happens on the outside until it happens on the inside. If we want to change our situations or circumstances, we must be willing to change ourselves. We see our life transform in miraculous ways when we internalize and apply this truth.
Release the Holy Spirit to be the renewing of your mind and to change your belief system. In the Holy Spirit there is peace, power, plenty and purpose without limit.
Truths in Life
1. Whatever lifestyle is created by our deep thinking patterns become reality whether they are constructive or destructive. Faulty belief systems will reappear in our life. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we view life differently so our perceptions and beliefs change to healthier, positive perceptions and beliefs (II Corinthians 5:17).
2. See yourself as a miracle. The more we practice seeing ourselves as a miracle, the more we see miracles. Faith calls life blessed and increased in the present. Call your life a breakthrough life and breakthroughs will come in increased form. Walking with the Holy Spirit empowers us for life!
3. Develop an attitude of thanksgiving. Where we cannot give thanks, we cannot practice faith. The moment we stop waiting for perfect circumstances and begin to release thankfulness for the present, God's door of abundance opens. Challenging times are never permanent, but are designed for increasing your trust in the Lord and for new doors of opportunities to unfold.
Heavenly Father, by Your Holy Spirit released in me, I have the power of choice to focus my thoughts with an attitude of thanksgiving and praise. By faith, I receive my birthright for a life blessed and increased. Lord Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit in me, I am open to receive every provision of every promise for peace, power, plenty and purpose. Thank you. By Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
